What is the role of the Kincardine & District Chamber of Commerce for business in the community?

We are a vehicle for education, advocacy and communication for our members to the community. We strive to uphold our motto "A voice for business in the community" by offering networking opportunities, advertisement and support to our members.

How does the Kincardine & District Chamber of Commerce represent itself in the community?

For over 35 years the Chamber has hosted the town's Santa Claus Parade, which has been a community favourite, drawing thousands of spectators to greet Santa over the holidays at no cost to those participating and those attending. We also celebrate our business community by holding the Kincardine Community Achievement Awards, a fun evening where we shine a spotlight on the businesses, people and community groups that help make Kincardine a great place to live. We also host a Home and Garden Expo, providing an opportunity for businesses to showcase their products and services. Small events run in conjunction with local businesses happen throughout the year, with topics ranging from marketing and branding, to car care.

What is the price of membership and what is included in the price?

The cost of membership is $200 plus HST per year. This helps cover the cost of our operation and administrative costs. By joining the chamber you will receive a listing on our website, sharing of your advertising on social media, and an opportunity to showcase your business on "Chamber Chat" on Rogers TV. This show airs for a whole month, and is a perfect way to get the word out. Other benefits include receive letters of support from our Chamber President and Export stamps. As a member you also get exclusive deals, workshops and networking opportunities with our members. As a member you are eligible to receive a reduced rate on health benefits through the Chamber of Commerce health plans.

If I am part of Lakeside Downtown Kincardine (BIA) am I a member of the Kincardine Chamber of Commerce?

No, only those who have paid for their yearly membership fees are members of the Chamber of Commerce. We welcome and encourage members of the BIA to join the Chamber of Commerce for exclusive networking, educational and advertising opportunities.

When are renewals and is there a fee for not for profit groups?

Memberships renew on the anniversary date when you join, and are not prorated. As the Chamber of Commerce is a not-for profit organization we cannot charge a not for profit rate, therefore all rates are $200 plus HST.
